As the month progresses, we’re hearing more about the top-30 prospects that the Minnesota Vikings are bringing in. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, one of those players the Vikings are set to host is Alabama safety Brian Branch.
Branch is one of the most versatile defenders in the NFL Draft. He has the ability to play a deep safety and can also come down and play nickel corner. Branch is so versatile that Alabama lined up as a linebacker at times. In addition to his positional versatility, Branch has the speed and size to be a dangerous blitzer, which he displayed throughout his collegiate career.
Branch’s skill set would flourish in new defensive coordinator Brian Flores’ scheme. While a top-30 visit doesn’t mean the Vikings will draft Branch, it does prove they are intrigued and want to learn more about what he could potentially bring to the team.
