In the first game without quarterback Kirk Cousins, Vikings’ backup quarterback Jaren Hall went down in the first quarter and was ruled out with a concussion.
The rookie Hall was running towards the end zone on a third down when he was tackled by two Falcons players. He hit the ground hard and shortly after was taken to the locker room for further evaluation. The Vikings settled for a field goal on the drive.
Before exiting Sunday’s game, Hall completed five-of-six passes for 78 yards, and he rushed 11 yards on two carries.

The Vikings picked up Josh Dobbs earlier this week to serve as Hall’s backup, so Dobbs entered the game on Minnesota’s next drive in the second quarter. Dobbs has spent the entire 2023 season as the Cardinals’ starting quarterback while Kyler Murray recovers from an ACL tear.
Cousins is expected to miss the rest of the season after he tore his Achilles during last Sunday’s 24–10 win over the Packers.
