After injuring his ankle against the Washington Commanders this past Sunday afternoon, the Minnesota Vikings have shut down emerging star cornerback Cameron Dantzler.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Vikings placed Dantzler on injured reserve, which will keep him out until after the three-game homestand.
The #Vikings are placing CB Cam Dantzler on Injured Reserve, knocking him out four games because of an ankle injury, source said. He’s expected back this season.

The move wasn’t unexpected, as NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that the Vikings had signed CB Duke Shelley to the active roster earlier on Saturday afternoon.
This is a smart move by the Vikings, as an ankle injury is something that you don’t want to rush a cornerback back from too early.
In his place will be fourth-round pick Akayleb Evans. He did play well against the Commanders but draws a very tough first start against Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis.
