The Minnesota Vikings are set to take on the Denver Broncos on Sunday night in the Mile High City.
The final injury report left the Vikings with a lot of questions on who would be playing on Sunday night. On Saturday, the Vikings made five different roster moves and distinctions. Here are the moves the Vikings made ahead of Sunday.
WR Justin Jefferson
The Vikings chose not to activate Jefferson from injured reserve, meaning he will miss his sixth-straight game. With the Broncos debuting new turf on Sunday, it makes sense to hold him out. In fact, it might not be the worst idea to hold him out through the bye week to make sure he’s at 100%.
QB Nick Mullens
The Vikings activated Mullens from injured reserve and he will be the backup quarterback to Josh Dobbs on Sunday. Mullens missed the last six games with a back injury.
G Chris Reed
The Vikings downgraded Reed to out on Sunday afternoon. Reed has been inactive all season after starting training camp on the NFI list. He will need to be activated early next week if the Vikings want Reed to play at all next season.
ILB Anthony Barr
The Vikings elevated Barr from the practice squad and he will likely play on Sunday. Barr was signed last week to the practice squad with the injury to Jordan Hicks and Brian Asamoah II still dealing with his injured ankle.
CB Joejuan Williams
With Akayleb Evans set to miss the game, the Vikings elevated Williams from the practice squad. He returned to the Vikings a couple of weeks ago after being released by the Chicago Bears and re-signed to the practice squad after clearing waivers. He will likely see some snaps as the fourth cornerback.
