Due to the injury to defensive end Dean Lowry on Sunday night against the Denver Broncos, the Minnesota Vikings made some roster moves on Tuesday afternoon to fortify the roster.
On Monday afternoon, they lost outside linebacker Benton Whitley to the New York Giants, who signed him to their active roster.
Let’s take a look at the four roster moves made by the Vikings on Tuesday.
NT Sheldon Day
Day signed to the active roster after spending the first 11 weeks on the practice squad. Day provides a versatile player who can play both on the interior and slide out to 5T.
OLB Austin Bryant
The Vikings signed Bryant to the practice squad. A fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft, Bryant was the other defensive lineman at Clemson with Clelin Ferrell, Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence. In his career, Bryant has played in 35 games, logging 66 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks.
WR Trishton Jackson
The Vikings waived Jackson on Tuesday. This was the likely move when Justin Jefferson was activated from injured reserve but they made it earlier with the need for another defensive lineman on the roster. With the open spot on the practice squad, Jackson will likely be on there as of Wednesday night.
WR Dan Chisena
The Vikings waived Chisena from the practice squad on Tuesday. He was brought back to be a potential special teams weapon with the injury to Jalen Nailor but didn’t end up getting elevated for a single game.
