Over the course of the last six weeks, the Minnesota Vikings have made multiple moves to adjust their coaching staff for the 2023 season.
There have been six coaches who have moved on from the Vikings for one reason or another and they have slowly been adding to it.
Outside of the Vikings bringing in defensive coordinator Brian Flores, they hadn’t add anyone to the staff. On Friday afternoon in the style of a Friday news dump, the Vikings announced that they added two coaches to the staff and promoted one as well.
Mike Siravo-Inside linebackers coach
Siravo has 20+ years of coaching experience spending time with Matt Rhule at Temple, Baylor and with the Carolina Panthers. Siravo also crossed paths with Flores when the former was a graduate assistant and Flores was playing for the Golden Eagles. He most recently was the defensive run game coordinator for the Panthers this past season.
Siravo has ties to the Vikings, as he was on staff in Carolina with Vikings Tight Ends Coach/Passing Game Coordinator Brian Angelichio and newly promoted assistant quarterbacks coach Grant Udinski.
Lance Bennett-Defensive quality control coach
Bennett was a former high school teammate of Flores and spent time with him down in Miami from 2019-2021. Bennett was also a running back and wide receiver for the University of Indiana from 2003-2006 and spent multiple seasons as an offensive coordinator at the high school level.
Grant Udinski-Assistant quarterbacks coach
Udinski spent this past season with the Vikings as the Assistant to the Head Coach/Special Projects. He got promoted by O’Connell to assistant quarterbacks coach, replacing Jerrod Johnson who left for the Houston Texans’ quarterbacks coaching position.
