MUMBAI: The Mumbai selectors on Wednesday recalled veteran seamer Dhawal Kulkarni while picking a 16-man squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy knockout matches, which will be played from December 11 onwards at Rajkot. Mumbai will play Tamil Nadu in the quarter-final on December 11.
Explaining why his committee had decided to bring back Dhawal, who wasn't picked for any of the white-ball tournaments so far this season, Mumbai chief selector and former India pacer Raju Kulkarni told TOI, "Since he's a senior bowler and can't play in all the three formats, we had thought we would play him only in the Ranji Trophy. However, since we are in the knockouts now, we decided to recall him for one-dayers."
