AHMEDABAD: India's Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will lead Mumbai in the first two matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy against Sikkim (November 23) and Kerala (Nov 25) at Bengaluru. Earlier, Mumbai had crashed out in the quarterfinals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy when they lost to Baroda in Mohali.

Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is missing from the squad as he's likely to be picked in the Indian team for the five-match T20I series against Australia, which will kick off on November 23. Veteran pacer Dhawal Kulkarni has been 'rested' from the tournament.

"We want him to be fresh for the Ranji Trophy," a source in the Mumbai Cricket Association said.
