Vijay Fans Left Heartbroken After Swearing-In Ceremony Rumours Collapse

The buzz intensified after Vijay reportedly met Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar to seek support for forming the government. However, the discussions did not lead to a breakthrough, as the governor is said to have informed TVK that the party lacked the required majority to form the government.

Emotional Scenes Outside Chennai Stadium

Several supporters gathered outside the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, where the swearing-in ceremony was rumoured to be held. Many fans arrived early in the morning expecting celebrations, only to find the gates shut throughout the day.

A video shared by PTI captured emotional scenes outside the venue, including a woman breaking down in tears after learning that the ceremony would not take place.

“I came here without informing anyone for this program. I didn’t know it was cancelled, and I feel very sad,” she said emotionally, adding that she had been waiting since morning with no official information about the change in plans.

Another family waiting outside the stadium also expressed shock and disappointment over the rumours turning out to be false.

Social Media Reacts

The confusion quickly spread across social media platforms, where users questioned whether the ceremony had ever been officially confirmed.

One user wrote, “Was the swearing-in officially scheduled in the first place?” Another shared how his mother had completed her household work early just to watch Vijay’s oath-taking ceremony on television, only to later discover it had been called off.

Many users expressed sympathy for the fans who had wholeheartedly believed the reports and gathered in anticipation.

TVK Falls Short of Majority Mark

TVK reportedly won 108 seats in the elections, marking a major political breakthrough for Vijay’s party. The actor-politician is also said to have vacated one of the two seats he contested from.

To strengthen its numbers, TVK later aligned with the Congress party, taking the coalition tally to 112 seats. However, the required majority mark in the 234-member assembly stands at 118 seats.

According to reports, the governor asked the alliance to demonstrate majority support before any move to form the government could proceed.

Protests and Industry Support

Following the development, protests reportedly erupted in several parts of Tamil Nadu, with TVK supporters demanding that the party be allowed to form the government.

Members of the Tamil film industry have also extended support to Vijay, with several voices backing his political rise and urging authorities to consider the public mandate reflected in the election outcome.

Despite the setback, the strong performance of TVK in the polls has positioned Vijay as a significant political force in Tamil Nadu’s evolving political landscape.
