Viewers work out who could replace Phillip Schofield on Dancing on Ice

Viewers have worked out who could replace Phillip Schofield on ITV show Dancing on Ice after the channel ended all association with the star. Schofield quit This Morning after admitting an affair with a young colleague and admitting he had lied about it.

ITV said it was ending all association with Schofield - including his role as host on Dancing on Ice, and his role hosting the British Soap Awards .

Singer and presenter Jane McDonald stepped in host the awards, and fans now want her to host Dancing on Ice, reports BirminghamLive.

Jodie tweeted: "Not a fan of Jane McDonald but she did an excellent job on the soap awards. First year I’ve enjoyed watching it in full. Never did before. Why can’t she present Dancing on Ice she would be better than the other one?"

Weasel said: "How long before Jane McDonald becomes the face of We Buy Any Car and presenter of Dancing On Ice? #SoapAwards"

"Can Jane McDonald present Dancing on Ice please? Imagine the glam, the jokes and a little number on the ice. IT MAKES SENSE #britishsoapawards2023," Lady Zoe said. Egg said: " #britishsoapawards2023 Jane McDonald and Stephen Mulhern for the next Dancing on Ice presenters. May as well get rid of Holly now Phil’s gone!"

An ITV spokesperson told Metro.co.uk "further announcements" will be made in "due course." "Dancing On Ice isn’t due on ITV until January 2024 and the series is not currently in production," the channel said. Jane, meanwhile, has confirmed she is joining the cast of Channel 4 Celebrity Gogglebox.

"I'm going to be appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox with my best friend Sue - it's going to be an absolute blast! We’ve shared some unforgettable moments over the years but I am really looking forward to spending time together on this wonderful show. @C4Gogglebox," she said.
