Almost 70,000 viewers switched off the second episode of Charlene McKenna’s new drama, Clean Sweep.
Figures revealed by RTE show an average of 248,000 people tuned into the second episode of the RTE One show, compared to 315,5000 who tuned in the previous week for the first episode of the series.
The six-part crime series follows killer Shelly Mohan, played by actress Charlene McKenna, who has been hiding in plain sight for nearly twenty years.

Shelly leads a seemingly normal life as a mother-of-three and homemaker in the west of Ireland with a Garda detective husband, Jason - until an ex arrives on the scene, threatening to expose her past.
The first episode had an average of 315,500 viewers across RTE One and RTE One +1 and a 24% share - but on Sunday evening, 67,5000 people switched off from watching the show.
Viewers have been commenting on the show on social media with a mixed reaction. One viewer said: "This new drama on RTÉ #cleansweep isn’t great is it… too many things clearly made for US audience. Why is everyone drinking whiskey in the morning? Why are people at home in the middle of the day, doing this? The school bus…"
Another said: "Like it’s dreadful so I should just turn it off but it’s so bad I just can’t look away."
Meanwhile, Ryan Tubridy’s second last ever Late Late Show saw an average 391,000 viewers tune in – an increase of 22,700 from the previous week.
A spokesman for RTE confirmed: “The Late Late Show had an average audience of 391.000 on RTÉ One and RTÉ One + One, with a 43% share, and a further 28,000 streams so far on RTÉ Player.”
Elsewhere, Angela Scanlon's Ask Me Anything had an average audience of 219,000 on RTÉ One, while Claire Byrne’s quiz show Ireland's Smartest had an average audience of 230,000, a drop of 5,700 from the previous week.
