Viewers of England v Iran on RTE were adequately entertained despite the one-way traffic on show on the pitch as Kenny Cunningham served up the jokes during a game which quickly turned into a damp squib.
First half goals from Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling all but ended the game as a contest, and the match became pedestrian as the half drew to a close.
At one point, the camera panned to an England fan with his chest painted in the colours of the St. George's flag.

When asked for his thoughts, Cunningham questioned whether the body paint job had been done by some of his friends.
He said: "Looks like it was done in the hotel room with some of the lads the night before, normally they'd shave the eyebrows off."
There were further comments from Cunningham on the dynamic in Qatar for fans looking to drink beer.
"Wouldn't affect me Des, I'm teetotal," he told commentator Des Curran.
Cunningham also gave an amusing summary of England manager Gareth Southgate as England closed out the game with a comfortable 5-1 lead.
He said: "You wouldn't know if his team has won 6-0 or lost 6-0 sometimes by the way he is in press conferences after."
And fans tuning into RTE's coverage of the game reacted on social media to the wisecracks from Cunningham.
One said: "Love Kenny Cunningham. Gas out."
"Kenny Cunningham is such a funny co-commentator," another said.
While another poster paid him a big compliment, saying: "Kenny Cunningham Man of the Match so far."
