Impersonating iconic celebrities is never going to be easy - but viewers were left fuming during ITV1's Starstruck on Saturday night as the "worst" team won the episode. The show, hosted by Olly Murs, sees members of the public work in teams to impersonate different famous singers and musicians.
Judges Adam Lambert, Beverley Knight, Jason Manford and Shania Twain then have to decide which team performed the best, before the voting studio audience picks which individual member of the winning team was their favourite. On Saturday, February 25, the judges picked the Meatloaf team, despite a very strong performance from the Christina Aguilera team.
Countless viewers were not happy that the Meatloaf team was picked and many took to social media to say Team Christina should have won. One angry viewer said: "Can’t believe ITV Starstruck tonight Team Meatloaf were the worst of the night. Team Christina should have gone through!"
Another added: "How the hell did team Christina not get through??? All three were incredible, and only one of the Meatloaf guys got anywhere near it #starstruck," whilst another viewer said: "Team Meatloaf? Are you kidding me? Team Christina were so much better #starstruck".
A fourth said: "Watching Starstruck on ITV. How on earth did the meatloaf act beat Team Christina," whilst another said: "Meatloaf? Seriously??? Obviously team Christina should have won. #starstruck".
When picking the winner, the judges said: "What you guys have done tonight was not easy. Most of you have never been on a stage this kind of scale in public but tonight the team that is going through to the sing-off is team Meatloaf!"
William from team Meatloaf went on to win the show and he will go through to the series finale and will be in with a chance of winning £50,000. Elsewhere in the show there was a Shania Twain team, who got the opportunity to perform as their idol in front of Shania herself.
