One of the most highly anticipated rematches in recent UFC memory finally has arrived.
Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya (21-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) fights the man he took the belt from, Robert Whittaker (23-5 MMA, 14-3 UFC), in a rematch to headline UFC 271 on Saturday at Toyota Center in Houston. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+.
Since he lost the title, Whittaker has been on a tear with three straight wins over top contenders Darren Till, Jared Cannonier and Kelvin Gastelum. Adesanya has three title defenses since he took the belt with wins over Yoel Romero, Paulo Costa and Marvin Vettori. (He also challenged for the light heavyweight title in a quest to become a two-division champion, but lost to then-champ Jan Blachowicz.)
But what can we expect in the rematch? Our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Nolan King, Danny Segura and Matthew Wells broke it down with host “Gorgeous” George Garcia.
