Video footage has emerged of the shocking moment Cardiff City fans trashed the toilets in the away end at Ashton Gate during Saturday's 3-2 Severnside derby defeat to Bristol City.
Some 2,500 fans made the short journey to cheer on their side, but were sadly let down by a small minority of supporters, who caused extensive damage to both the male and female toilets.
It's not clear exactly when the incident occurred, but BristolLive report the Robins have confirmed that the damage was carried out by travelling Bluebirds fans.
Footage of the incident has been circulating on social media, and shows a small number of supporters tearing down roof panels, leaving wires hanging down from the ceiling and insulation all over the floor, which also appeared to be covered in water.
Pictures showing the aftermath of the incident have similarly gone viral on social media, with Cardiff understood to have already contacted Bristol and offered to pay for the damage caused.
Cardiff are believed to be 'extremely disappointed' by the actions of what was a minority, and are assisting Bristol and the police in their enquiries in the hope the perpetrators will be held accountable for their actions.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said: “A police investigation has been launched following a report of criminal damage to toilets at Ashton Gate Stadium on Saturday 22 January.
“No arrests have yet been made.
“We’d ask anyone with information that could assist our inquiry to contact police on 101, quoting reference 5222018809,” she added.
Cardiff City Supporters' Trust chair Keith Morgan also condemned the incident caused by what he described as 'idiots'.
The incident compounded what was a largely disastrous day for Cardiff, who gave their fans very little to shout about on a desperate afternoon.
Cardiff broke the deadlock midway through the first half through James Collins' header, before Chris Martin equalised just two minutes later.
Martin doubled his tally just after the hour mark, before Andreas Weimann put the hosts 3-1 up 20 minutes from time.
Max Watters pulled a goal back in stoppage time - his first since coming back from a recent loan spell from MK Dons.
But it was too little, too late.
The result leaves Cardiff just four points above the relegation zone.
