In more than 15 years with the WEC and UFC, Cub Swanson has been one of the featherweight division’s most exciting fighters.
He’s got the accolades to prove it, too. Swanson holds the UFC record for most fight night bonus awards at featherweight with nine. He had four Fight of the Night bonuses in his eight fights in the WEC. His win over Doo Ho Choi at UFC 206 was 2016’s Fight of the Year – and that same win already has him in the UFC Hall of Fame’s Fight Wing as one of the greatest bouts in the promotion’s history.
Saturday, Swanson (28-12 MMA, 13-8 UFC) will take on a new challenge, though. After years at featherweight, he’s making the drop to bantamweight for a fight against Jonathan Martinez (16-4 MMA, 7-3 UFC) in the UFC Fight Night 212 co-main event. The card streams on ESPN+ from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Swanson has had plenty of notable wins over the years – including a knockout of eventual lightweight champion Charles Oliveira and a victory over eventual interim lightweight champ Dustin Poirier.
Ahead of UFC Fight Night 212, check out a trio of his greatest hits, including a vintage bonus-winning WEC performance on that classic blue canvas.
