Viddal Riley will not train KSI for boxing return despite successful partnership

Viddal Riley has confirmed he will have no involvement in KSI's YouTube boxing return in August.

YouTube star KSI - real name JJ Olatunji - will make his comeback fight on August 27 with an opponent yet to be announced. Riley trained KSI for his previous victory over fellow content creator Logan Paul in 2019, but his charge has yet to lace up his gloves since.

And Riley has admitted he would not be able to commit to coaching KSI while he switches focus to his own career. "I have no involvement in his fight," Riley revealed to Mirror Fighting when discussing the star's return. "No involvement, this game is not a joke we have people who are dedicating their lives.

"I can't be doing it part-time otherwise I am going to get exposed. I can't be doing that so I'm obviously putting my heart and time into my own boxing career and that involves not coaching. Coaching is a full-time job if you are going to do it properly. Boxing is a full-time job if you are going to do it properly. I am looking to throw the hands instead of coaching the hands."

The 24-year-old was heavily involved in KSI's past victory having taken the reigns after his white-collar bout with Paul ended in a split-decision draw. KSI has yet to name an opponent for his return but has been heavily linked with YouTube star Alex Wassabi and Conor McGregor's teammate Dillon Danis.

KSI previously admitted he could take a fight against Wassabi in a bid to avenge his brother Deji's prior defeat to the American. "Alright as a warm up fight to get rid of the cobwebs I will fight Alex Wassabi," he said during a recent episode of SideCast. "Go in and f*** him up, I'll redeem Deji and say 'this is how you do it'.

"I'll lose the weight. If I lose to Alex Wassabi I'll never do boxing or music again in my life. I would just stop. I wouldn't even make people pay for it, I'll make it for free. I'll show everyone a sick event and make it free."

Olatunji's long-term goal in boxing is to settle his rivalry with Jake Paul who has announced his own return for an earlier date in August. He has revealed he still dislikes the 'Problem Child' and is planning to become the first man to defeat Paul.“I still f*****g hate [Jake] him, I’m sorry, Logan,” KSI said on Paul’s Impaulsive podcast. “I think he’s a c***.

"Obviously he’s smashed it, he’s killed it, with what he’s done -- fair f*****g play, it’s pretty good. The way he knocked out Tyron Woodley, stupid. But for me, I can’t in my heart be like, ‘Ah, I like him now.’ I can’t. Maybe when I beat him. But I know everyone’s always going, ‘Shut the f**k up, KSI, you haven’t been in the ring for so long, you’re not gonna be able to beat Jake Paul."
