NAGPUR: If Vidarbha bowlers had a ball on Monday, their Madhya Pradesh counterparts returned the favour with more venom to grab an early advantage in the CK Nayudu Trophy semifinal. The MP under-25 skipper Rahul Chandrol read the wicket well and orchestrated his moves accordingly. They castled Vidarbha for their lowest total (116) of the season and took a vital 200+ runs lead on Day-2 at Vadodara on Tuesday.
Vidarbha were shocked to lose their in-form batting line-up in just 46.2 overs. Their middle-order - Yash Rathod (45), Mohit Kale (0), Yash Kadam (4) and Siddesh Wath (0) - has been the game-decider so far in the tournament. But they could manage just 49 runs between them. Of these, 45 runs came from the bat of Rathod, who was the only Vidarbha batter to look confident in the middle.
