A “stunning” maisonette is on the market in Liverpool - inside a historic mock “castle”.
The two bedroom lower level flat is inside a Victorian manor house that dates back to the 1870s. On the grounds of Hollystead House, on Old Mill Lane, Wavertree, the property was once home to iron merchant Joseph Smith, before becoming a children's home run by nuns.
The manor house was used as a residential care home - but now known as Hollystead, the building is split into apartments. Unlike anything else in the area, the Grade II listed property is unique with a turret on the side, balconies and period characteristics.
