Victoria Police arrest sex offender after escape from Ararat correctional facility

Police have arrested a sex offender who they say escaped from a correctional facility in Ararat, west of Melbourne.

The 52-year-old man was in post-sentence custody at the Warrack Road facility when he fled just after 2am on Sunday.

He was arrested without incident about 9pm on Sunday.
