NEW DELHI: Victoria Azarenka, the Belarusian tennis player, expressed her delight at receiving the support of the Wimbledon crowd in London on Monday. Azarenka had missed out on participating in the Grand Slam last year due to the ban imposed on players from Russia and Belarus.

The ban was a consequence of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which Moscow referred to as a "special military operation." As a result, ranking points were deducted from the tournament by the ATP and WTA Tours.
