Victor Wembanyama wore a Spurs jersey with an incorrect name because spelling is hard

Victor Wembanyama may already be one of the most popular NBA players early in his rookie season, but many are still figuring out how to spell his last name.

That includes, evidently, the San Antonio Spurs equipment staff.

On Friday night when the Spurs visited the Golden State Warriors, Wembanyama played the first half wearing a jersey that included an extra ‘n’ in place of an ‘m’.

And, listen, many of us have misspelled his name once or twice already. Spelling is hard and sometimes you need to get called out on a silly mistake before the correct spelling sticks in your head forever.

We can assume that will be the case for the Spurs because fans immediately took notice of the error.

Less than a week ago, a game-worn Wembanyama jersey sold for a record $762,000 at auction. There’s equal chance this one either doesn’t come near that price, or completely shatters the record.

You never know what collectors will value.
