The San Antonio Spurs hosted the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night, meaning NBA fans were treated to a battle between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Victor Wembanyama.
It didn’t take long for some highlight reel plays to occur on the court, and midway through the second quarter, both players were involved in a rather extraordinary exchange.
After Antetokounmpo powered home a dunk coming off a strong spin move in the paint, Wembanyama answered with a jaw-dropping self alley-oop.
The Spurs’ rookie, who turned 20 on Thursday, mystified fans when he caught the ball at the perimeter and took one dribble before changing directions. From there, he leapt into the air and tossed the ball off the backboard to himself before flushing down a strong two-handed slam.
Wembanyama’s self alley-oop left the NBA world awestruck, and fans raced to social media in reaction to his dunk.
