Chelsea face a defining few months before the summer transfer window opens with the Champions League still to fight for and a Premier League top-four finish within the realms of possibility.
Following a 2-2 draw against Everton, the Blues are 11 points away from Tottenham in fourth with 33 points still up for grabs. Overturning an 11-point deficit, with five clubs still between Graham Potter's side and a Champions League qualification spot may mean the club are better off focussing on this season's European campaign.
To complete a repeat of 2021, Chelsea must beat holders Real Madrid in the quarter-finals and then also bypass Manchester City or Bayern Munich. The other side of the tournament sees Inter, Benfica, Napoli and AC Milan all set to fight for a guaranteed spot in the final.

Three of those teams on the opposite side of the bracket play their domestic football in Italy where Napoli are runaway leaders, likely outlining them as favourites to reach the final in Istanbul on June 10. If the Blues do what would likely be considered unthinkable and reclaim their European crown, Todd Boehly will undoubtedly head into the summer market ready to invest millions more into the squad.
One position Chelsea desperately need to recruit in is attack, with a natural striker one of the priorities. Kai Havertz's recent goal scoring form has softened the lack of a number nine, but the problem is still evident. Although the chances are slim, Chelsea could end up facing their main target for the role.
Napoli's Victor Osimhen has taken the footballing world by storm this season with his ridiculous goal scoring record, along with 28 league contributions for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia placing Napoli 19 points clear at the top of Serie A.
After two games without a goal, Osimhen sent a firm transfer reminder to Boehly showcasing what he is capable of. The 24-year-old first played a role in dumping Eintracht Frankfurt out of the Champions League with a brace that saw Napoli win 5-0 on aggregate.
Osimhen then made it two braces in four days as he scored goal number 24 and 25 of the season in a rampant 4-0 win on Sunday against Torino.
While Erling Haaland will understandably take the spot light when it comes to unfathomable goal scoring, Osimhen is slowly proving to be one of the best strikers in Europe, something that will have certainly caught the eye of Boehly and several other major clubs.
