Victor Osimhen's future is currently uncertain following failed negotiations between Chelsea and Napoli before the transfer deadline. Napoli had reportedly accepted an €80 million offer from Al Ahli, a Saudi Pro League team, but Osimhen hesitated about leaving European football. This hesitation opened the door for Chelsea to potentially make a move for the 25-year-old striker, a player they have been interested in for some time.
Despite talks intensifying between Chelsea and Napoli on Thursday and Friday, a deal could not be finalized in time. Al Ahli, on the other hand, was also pursuing a deal for Ivan Toney from Brentford. With the Saudi club unable to register both forwards, Osimhen now faces the possibility of waiting for another Middle East club to make a late move, as the Saudi Pro League transfer window closes on September 2.
If Osimhen does not secure a move to another club, he may need to focus on rebuilding his relationships at Napoli. However, this could prove challenging as Napoli's new head coach, Antonio Conte, successfully pushed for the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea in a £30 million deal.
