After a season which proved Leeds United were far too light up front, Victor Orta will concentrate on bringing another centre forward to Elland Road this summer. There are other priorities for Leeds' director of football, including a central midfielder but finding a striker who fits the profile that Leeds require will perhaps be the Spaniard's biggest challenge of the transfer window.
If Marcelo Bielsa was still in the role as manager, it might be a slightly easier job for Orta. That's due to the fact that he could simply focus on signing a backup player who has similar attributes to Bamford.
Leeds' number nine would still be expected to be the first-choice, as he was for the vast majority of Bielsa's time as manager. There would be little need for finding another starting level player, since Bielsa almost always lined up the team with one striker. For that reason, Daniel James primarily filled in as an auxiliary striker, whilst Tyler Roberts, Rodrigo and Joe Gelhardt also all had chances in the role, with varying degrees of success.
