Victor Lindelof's wife opens up on terrifying burglary after "being hunted" in own home

Victor Lindelof's wife Maja has shed light on the terrifying moment she was forced to lock herself away in her own home alongside her two children due to a break-in.

The Lindelof family were targeted while Victor was with Manchester United playing a Premier League fixture away at Brentford.

Thankfully, Maja and their two children Ted Louie and Francis were unharmed during the robbery and in the wake of the incident United released a club statement urging for information.

"We can confirm that a break-in occurred at Victor Lindelof’s house during the away game against Brentford," said the Red Devils.

"His family, who were at home at the time, were unhurt but clearly shaken. This was a distressing experience for them, and for Victor when he learned of it after the game, and the club is providing them with our full support.

"We encourage anyone with information about the crime to contact the police."

More recently, Maja has discussed the ordeal at great length while speaking to Elle.

"I do not remember how, but I ran up and got all three of us into a room," she explained.

"Physically, I do not know how I managed to lift a heavy sleeping Ted Louie while I carried a fragile Francis in my arms but it worked.

"I got both the children and myself into a room, I locked the door and held up the handle. I remember the feeling of being hunted."

Maja explained how one of the culprits ran in her direction which only heightened her anxiety and questioned whether the intruders were after her and her family as well as their belongings.

Amid all the chaos, Maja revealed how she phoned her mother while she was hiding with her children because she "just needed to hear a safe voice" and was confident her mum would answer.

She went on to explain the aftermath and how high emotions were running high right after the traumatic incident that left her fearing for her life.

"After what felt like an eternity, we were given the go-ahead to leave the room and we were met by so many police officers, guards and the team from United.

"When I stepped out with the children on my hips and saw the three policemen standing outside the room, I just totally broke down. I was shaking all over and I could not control my emotions at all.

"The female police officer gave me a hug and the two men were objective but still managed to calm Ted Louie down and joked a bit with him."

The footprints left behind by the intruders made the situation feel all the more real for an exhausted Maja who explained how she cried in the arms of her husband once he had returned.

Maja also updated her fans via Instagram a day after the burglary took place, writing: "We are okay under the circumstances but it was obviously a very traumatic and scary moment for both me and my little kids.

"We are now in Sweden and are spending some time off with our families. Love, Maja."

As a result of the incident, Lindelof missed United's home clash against West Ham United to take some time with his family to recover.
