Victim left with permanent scar after attack with pint glass in Nottingham pub

A 25-year-old has been left with a permanent scar on his head after having a pint glass thrown at him during a night out in Nottingham. Nottinghamshire Police says the victim was socialising with work friends when the attack happened at Das Kino, a bar and ping pong club in Fletcher Gate.

It happened at 9.25pm on Saturday, July 9, after the 25-year-old had just finished a ping pong game and was in the smoking area with friends. Another man began verbally abusing him before launching the glass at his head, leaving him in need of stitches.

Nottinghamshire Police says the victim has been permanently scarred by the attack and that the suspect fled the scene after the incident. Officers have now released images of a man they would like to speak to as part of their investigation.

PC Camilla Edwards-Cleaves said: "The victim was out socialising with work friends when this unprovoked attack took place. This incident has left the victim scarred.

"Throwing a glass at someone is completely unacceptable. It is like taking a weapon out with you.

"We do not tolerate violence in our city centre. This was during the summer months where the victim was out enjoying himself with his friends and was left needing stitches to his head.

"We are working hard to find the person responsible. We have released an image today of a man we would like to speak to as part of our investigation."

The person who police would like to speak to has been described as a white male and as wearing a black beanie hat and a t-shirt with orange writing when the image was captured. Those who recognise the man can call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 0867 of July 9, or alternatively they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
