Calvin Harris' fiancé Vick Hope has spilled the beans on his 'perfect' summertime proposal in Ibiza.
The broadcaster was first linked to the Dumfries-born DJ at the Chelsea Flower Show last May, after Calvin, 39, proposed following a whirlwind five-month romance. Vick, 33, was profiled for You Magazine and admits that while the two want to keep their relationship private and off social media, the proposal was 'perfect'.
"There’s a difference between secrecy and privacy," she said but added that a "very precious thing has happened" and that "it was… perfect."
Vick, who co-hosts Radio 1 Drivetime alongside Jordan North, revealed that her co-star hasn't stopped teasing her over the relationship after she joined Calvin on tour last year in Australia and Bali. The couple were jet-setting across the Caribbean in the We Found Love hitmaker's private plane over the festive season too.
Her desire to keep some aspects of her life out of the public eye came after realising that just because she had a microphone in front of her, she didn't have to say anything. "I always felt the need to try to explain – but it then gives more quotes that can be taken further out of context," she told the publication.
Speaking of her relationship with Calvin, she said: "We don't really put anything on social media because the time we have together is "real life" and it's our own. For the first time in a long time, I'm finishing work and going home to a life that is just mine. I'm learning to find balance and peace."
While their relationship is public knowledge now, many fans won't know that Calvin actually tried to reach out to Vick years ago after his success with 'Acceptable in the 80s but she rejected him. "It's something that we laughed about on our first proper date. We still laugh about it now," she added.
The couple were spotted looking loved up at Glastonbury festival last year, between Vick's Radio 1 shift and Calvin's DJ set. She told the publication that a memory she cherishes dearly from that weekend was when her parents danced the night away listening to Harris perform 'We Found Love'.
"Adam was DJing at 2am at the Arcadia stage. I was working for Radio 1 and I wasn't broadcasting all morning and my parents came, too."
