A man has suffered “serious” injuries after being viciously assaulted at a Paisley takeaway on Friday night.
The 55-year-old’s injuries are not life-threatening, according to police, but officers have stressed that the damage caused was significant.
Police are now appealing for information following the incident which happened at a fast-food establishment on Causeyside Street around 11.15pm.
Officers believe it's likely somebody witnessed the incident as the area was said to be full of people at the time.
Police say they are looking for a suspect who is believed to be white and aged between 35 and 45.
He is around 6ft tall and of stocky build with short dark receding hair and stubble. He was wearing a navy blue T-shirt and jeans.
Detective Constable Malcolm Clark, from Paisley CID, said: “Our enquiries have established that the area was quite busy at the time of the attack and the victim was spoken to by numerous members of the public.
“We are appealing to anyone with information on the incident to contact police on 101, quoting incident 1297 of December 10. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
