Vice President Kamala Harris is experiencing a surge in popularity among U.S. adults as the Democratic Party gears up to officially nominate her as a presidential candidate in Chicago this week.
According to a recent poll, 48% of Americans now hold a very or somewhat favorable opinion of Harris, a notable increase from the 39% recorded earlier this year. This uptick in favorability can be attributed to the extensive positive media coverage Harris has received following President Biden's announcement of his decision not to run for re-election in 2024.
Comparatively, when President Biden exited the race, only 38% of Americans viewed him favorably, indicating a significant improvement in Harris's standing among the public.
On the other hand, the poll revealed that former President Trump currently holds a 41% approval rating, underscoring the shifting dynamics of public opinion among key political figures.
