On Tuesday, Vice President Kamala Harris received a warm welcome from hundreds of White House staffers as she arrived on campus following her loss in the 2024 presidential election. The White House confirmed that the staffers had gathered outside the Eisenhower Executive Office Building to greet the vice president.
According to an aide, Harris had visited the White House on Monday, but Tuesday marked her first post-Election Day visit with most White House and EEOB staff present, as Monday was a federal holiday.
The enthusiastic crowd cheered and applauded as Harris made her way onto the White House grounds. The vice president is scheduled to have lunch with President Joe Biden later in the afternoon.
