Vice President Kamala Harris is set to introduce her new running mate at a rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday evening, although the identity of her choice remains undisclosed at this time. The potential finalists being considered include Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

The announcement is expected to be made via video message before the rally, following a similar approach to how Joe Biden revealed Harris as his vice presidential pick during the 2020 presidential race. This event marks a significant milestone in Harris' campaign efforts to energize the Democratic race against Republican Donald Trump.

Following the rally in Philadelphia, Harris and her running mate will embark on a five-day tour of critical battleground states, including stops in Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada. The campaign has invited various groups, including faith leaders, union members, and elected officials, to participate in the upcoming events.

The selection of Shapiro, a popular figure in Pennsylvania, has drawn some criticism from Arab Americans and activist groups due to his stance on Israel. Meanwhile, Kelly, a former astronaut from Arizona, has garnered support from congressional Democrats for his potential to address immigration issues along the Mexican border.

As the campaign unfolds, Harris and her running mate will engage with voters in diverse settings, from large arenas to smaller venues like union halls and family-owned restaurants. The focus remains on contrasting the Democratic platform with that of the Trump administration, with key issues such as tax policies and immigration taking center stage.

While some Democratic delegates have expressed reservations about fully supporting Harris until more details about her policies are revealed, the campaign continues to emphasize the importance of the upcoming election in shaping the country's future direction.
