The former leader of the Labour group on Renfrewshire Council has fired an astonishing accusation of “backstabbing” after quitting the party.
Councillor Eddie Devine, who represents Paisley Southeast, handed in his resignation from the party on Friday, October 21, after more than 40 years of being a member.
The veteran politician was group leader during the last council term from 2017 to 2022 before being succeeded by incumbent Councillor Iain McMillan.
