Temsak Traisophon, a veteran journalist at the Bangkok Post, has died after contracting Covid-19. He was 85.
Temsak started his career in journalism when he joined the Bangkok World, a newspaper affiliated to the Bangkok Post, and covered the City Hall beat.
When the Bangkok World ceased publication in 1987, he switched to the Bangkok Post where he reported on affairs related to the Interior Ministry. He continued to report for the Bangkok Post until 2003 at the age of 66.
After his mandatory retirement, Temsak was contracted to work for the Post for another six years.
The contract was offered on account of editorial satisfaction of his reporting accuracy, reliability and admirable work ethics and conduct, all of which earned him respect from news sources at the ministry and younger generations of reporters.
The funeral rites and cremation were held at Wat Bang Na Nok in Bang Na district of Bangkok yesterday.
