A Second World War veteran who served in the RAF recalled his gruelling time as a prisoner of war after being shot down over Germany as he joined comrades at a Buckingham Palace garden party.

Harry Winter, 102, flew in the 427th Squadron, also known as the Lion squadron, which was involved in bombing campaigns against Germany between 1942 and 1945.
