A 'very beautiful' West Country pub that's based on a beach has been voted the 'best in the UK'. People travel for hundreds of miles to enjoy a beverage at the stunning location, and it's easy to see why.
The Watering Hole, in Perranporth, Cornwall, has been voted the best beer garden in the country by Big 7 Travel and it's the UK's only pub on a beach. Celebrities including the likes of Sam Ryder, Jools Holland and The Sugarhill Gang have all performed at the spot.
It started off as "just a shed" the managing director, Tom Job told the Mirror. But it now boasts a large bar, huge dining area, and a giant beer garden - alongside a secondary outside bar and two shops.

Sharing a video of the location on TikTok, Storm Chaser500 said: "Stopped in for a beer on the beach #thewateringhole #wateringholecornwall". The footage showed the sun setting behind the pubs dreamy picnic benches.
Dozens of people replied saying how breathtaking the location was. One person wrote: "Wow now that’s a view my friend sooooo jealous."
Another said: "Looks very beautiful."
And the spot, unsurprisingly, also has rave reviews on TripAdvisor. One person penned: "5* for the view especially at sunset hour- stunning, sat on the sand."
Someone else said: "We visit the Watering Hole every year we visit Cornwall, and can honestly say it’s one of our favourite places to go. What more could you want…... Cracking drinks, lovely food, friendly service all on a stunning beach."
A third wrote: "Just love love this place! The atmosphere is chilled & relaxed and the beer & food are wonderful. The location is breathtaking!!"
Discussing winning the prestigious best beer garden award, Tom told The Mirror: "It's pretty cool to be number one. There are lots of good places out there - there are two or three that are normally number one, so it's nice to take it this year.
"You've just got to look at it to see why people like it, it's good for visitors and it's right in the middle of the beach, there are no roads or paths to get here, and the beer garden is sat in the sand.
"Usually we'll be second or third, it's a unique place."
