Mining conglomerate Vedanta recently underwent a mega demerger, with its share price now reflecting the value excluding the four new companies which spun out of it. While investors continue to trade Vedanta shares, they await the listing of the four new companies.
In April, Vedanta announced that each of its eligible shareholders will get one share each of Vedanta Aluminium Metal (VAML), Talwandi Sabo Power (to be renamed Vedanta Power), Malco Energy (to be renamed Vedanta Oil and Gas) and Vedanta Iron and Steel for every share held in the parent company. This marked one of the biggest corporate restructurings in India’s metals and mining sector.
