Outcast Vasilis Barkas has told Celtic he wants to leave this summer having been frozen out of the Parkhead first-team.
Barkas has slipped down the pecking order at Celtic Park with Joe Hart and Scott Bain, who recently signed a new contract, holding the top two positions.
The 27-year-old has barely had a look-in under Ange Postecoglou making just two first-team appearances so far this season.
According to a report in Greece, both Celtic and the stopper are ready to cut their losses after Barkas failed to live up to his bumper £5million price tag.
Onlarissa report that the goalkeeper has "demanded" to leave Celtic Park in the summer to bring the curtain down on his nightmare spell.
They note that Barkas has "already begun the countdown to his departure" if a suitor can be found.
It is noted that Celtic have told Greece cap that he is free to find a new club and had hoped to offload him in the January window.
Loan moves to Sheffield United and IFK Gothenburg were on the cards but both hit a wall over salary details.
