The first episode of the Vardy v Rooney dramatisation airs tonight on Channel 4.
The greatest detective story of our generation is finally hitting the silver screen to showcase all of the court drama, social suicide and legendary sleuthing involved in the aptly titled 'Wagatha Christie trial.'
Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney will have to relive the trial as the documentary will tell the story of leaked information and a broken friendship with Channel 4 pulling directly from the transcripts used in court.

Less than six months after the defamation case ended in Coleen's favour, the events will be retold in a two-part dramatisation. It will recreate the high-stakes High Court trial and explore the impact it had on the lives of the two women at its core.
Who are the cast?
Coleen Rooney will be played by BAFTA-winning actress Chanel Cresswell. The Derbyshire-born actress has starred in This is England and its TV sequels and Trollied, a Sky comedy set in a fictional Warrington supermarket.
She appears alongside Natalia Tena as Rebekah Vardy. Tena is perhaps best-known for starring as Nymphadora Tonks in the Harry Potter franchise, and the wildling Osha in Game of Thrones.
Acclaimed Welsh actor Michael Sheen – star of The Damned United and Prime Video’s Good Omens – stars as Rooney’s barrister David Sherborne. Simon Coury will play Vardy’s barrister, Hugh Tomlinson QC (now KC), who has famously represented a host of high-profile clients including King Charles III.
Former Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney is played by Welshman Dion Lloyd, who most recently appeared in Welsh drama-thriller The Light in the Hall. Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is played by Hungarian newcomer Márton Nagyszokolyai.
When is Vardy v Rooney released?
The two-part film will be broadcast on Channel 4, with part one scheduled to air at 9pm on Wednesday, December 21, and part two following the next day in the same time slot.
