Gary Lineker says he was surprised Cody Gakpo's opener for Liverpool was not overturned following a handball in the build-up. Leeds United's Junior Firpo played the ball off Trent Alexander-Arnold's arm in the build-up to the first goal, with the rebound falling into the path of Mo Salah, who played in the Reds defender to set-up Gakpo just after the half hour mark.
Whites supporters were left incensed by the decision not to disallow the goal, which opened the floodgates at Elland Road. Of course, Gakpo's tap in was just the start of a calamitous evening of football for Leeds, but they have every right to feel aggrieved given some of the decisions that have gone against them this season.
Had the goal not stood, the Whites may well have battled on for a good result. That wasn't the case with Jurgen Klopp's side running riot and the final score meaning Javi Gracia's side have now conceded 11 goals in just two games.

Lineker tweeted: "I know it’s in the build up, but given that goals are disallowed, or penalties awarded, when the ball inadvertently flicks someone’s pinky, I’m surprised that Gakpo’s goal was not overturned."
Speaking after the game, Gracia said he asked about the handball in the build-up but was told the VAR check was for offside. He said: "No, I asked the assistant there and he told me the check was offside. Nothing else.
"It was the explanation I had on the pitch that it was gone, it wasn't handball, but that's all.
