Vanessa Feltz is "in bits" and "beyond devastated" by her break up from Ben Ofoedu, despite putting on a brave face in public.
TV star Vanessa, 60, confirmed her split from singer Ben, 50, in a heartbreaking video last week.
Since then, she has been incredibly honest about her heartache – but continued to keep a brave face as she kept smiling throughout her TV appearances on This Morning and her show TalkTV.
Vanessa was even snapped smiling and putting her thumbs up shortly after the breakup was announced, showing her defiance amid the heartache.
But, behind closed doors, Vanessa is said to be "in bits" over her split.
A source told OK! magazine: "Vanessa has been stepping out with a smile on her face and getting on with things but she is understandably in bits about the whole thing.
"She is beyond devastated. She’s distracting herself with her work, which is like her therapy. She is finding it extremely difficult, but she’s attempting to walk away from this with her head held high."
Vanessa took a break from social media before confirming she had parted ways from the Phats & Small singer.
Speaking in the clip, the TV star explained: "I honestly didn’t know what to say on Instagram, but now it’s clear that it’s over and I really do feel that once the trust in a relationship is gone, you can’t really get it back.
"And so I just wanted to say obviously I feel incredibly sad and I’m pretty disappointed and shocked and all those horrible things but also full of resolve. I’m not going to let this defeat me."
Vanessa reportedly discovered Ben was cheating when messages were sent from an anonymous source to the TV star's daughter Allegra on Christmas Day.
She then had to make the decision to tell her mum the heartbreaking news during what should have been one of the family’s happiest days of the year.
At the time Phats & Small singer Ben was away performing in a pantomime and has now moved out of the home he shared with Vanessa, who he was engaged to for 16 years.
Following the news, Ben gave an exclusive interview to the Mirror and admitted he did cheat on Vanessa by sexting younger fans and having a three-time romp with an older woman.
Vanessa forgave Ben for the Ibiza romp, which he branded a "chore", but his patched-up, 16-year relationship with Vanessa was finally doomed when, the Mirror can reveal, he later sex-texted one woman and flirted with another.
She then kicked Ben out of their North London home and is now blocking his calls.
But, Ben hopes Vanessa will forgive him and wants to win her back.
He told the Mirror: "I don’t come from a family of therapy. I’m an English kid, Nigerian background. But I’d love to see a therapist.
"It’s about why you do what you do which needs to be worked out and I need someone to help me find out why."
