Van driver dies after crashing into parked car in Scots town as police launch probe

A van driver has tragically died after crashing into a parked car in Fife. Emergency services were called to the accident Aberdour Road in Burntisland at around 2.50pm on Wednesday.

The motorist, who has not been identified, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by medics. The road was closed while police carried out enquiries.

No one else was injured. A picture from the scene shows a recovery vehicle waiting to take the damaged motor away.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers attended a road traffic crash which happened on Aberdour Road in Burntisland at around 2.50pm on Wednesday.

“The crash involved a van being driven east and a parked vehicle. Emergency services attended and the driver of van was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Inquiries remain ongoing.”
