Riot Games has announced it is disabling Valorant's Night Market for Episode 6 Act 3 after negative feedback from players.
Riot Games finally opened the Valorant Night Market up for Episode 6 Act 3 this week alongside Valorant Patch 6.11. However, just as soon as it was here, the Night Market has once again gone away, as hours later, Riot Games disabled the Valorant Night Market. Riot Games took to the @PlayVALORANT Twitter account to announce the move saying "We're hearing reports that some of you are having issues with Night Market and rotating Store offers." before adding "As a result, we're turning Night Market off for now. We'll work on a fix and hope to bring it back soon".
Rotating Store Offers refers to a new item appearing once something has been purchased, the Night Market typically offers you a new cosmetic when you've purchased something, so this not working for players is a pretty big deal.
The Riot Games Service Status website doesn't give an estimate as to when this issue will be fixed and the Night Market will return to the game, but chances are Riot Games is looking to get the storefront back online as soon as possible so that players can start throwing their Riot points at whatever rare skins are on offer for the Night Market before Episode 7 Act 1 launches.
Night fever
A fair number of players who were unhappy with their original Night Market options are now hopeful that their Night Market will be reset once the service comes back online, with one user saying "god i hope you give me a new night market" while another unhappy player said "You can keep mine disabled, I don’t need a smite knife". Meanwhile over on Reddit – in response to a user asking why the Night Market was taken down – had a more comedic view on the situation saying "They accidentally gave me recon phantom so they shut it down while they investigate how I got a good skin for once".
Hopefully the Night Market isn't down for too long and players can get back to rolling for rare skins once more. Although it would be nice for Riot Games to throw a bone to players who are losing out with the downtime if it ends up lasting a long time. We aren't going to get our hopes up though.
