An ex-trucker who crawled along a motorway in an SUV at 10 miles an hour before rear-ending a stationary police van has narrowly dodged jail.
Colin Fotheringham, 43, drove a VW Tiguan R-Line along the M9, then the M876 and finally the A9 towards Larbert, Stirlingshire.
A court heard the VW had "significant front end damage", and part of a plastic traffic cone was lodged underneath it.
