V Srinivas Goud, officials skip cultural event of Centre

HYDERABAD: State tourism minister V Srinivas Goud and government representatives skipped the first day of three-day Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav (2022), organised by the Union tourism ministry, at NTR stadium here on Friday.

The event was inaugurated by Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu, who enjoys good relations with TRS and CM. However, no TRS leaders were present either. Usually, state tourism minister attends such events.

Union tourism minister G Kishan Reddy, who was present at the event, said state government representatives had been invited. Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatreya attended the event, while his Telangana counterpart Tamilisai Soundararajan inaugurated the craft mela.

In fact, TRS leaders were conspicuous by their absence at the Ugadi celebrations at Raj Bhavan. Invitations were sent to the CM, ministers and state government officials.

At the event, the President and Prime Minister’s billboards were put up. Huzurabad BJP MLA Eatala Rajender was present at both events.
