V&A East Museum, one of the city's most exciting new museum projects, which will be opening in 2025, has now revealed details about its inaugural exhibition: it will launch with The Music Is Black: A British Story, a massive celebration and exploration of Black British music over the last century.
Looking at the impact of Black British music on culture in both Britain and around the world, the exhibition will celebrate 125 years of ever-evolving music genres, from Jazz to Reggae, and from Garage to Grime. It will take music fans on a journey around London and the UK, from Carnival to club nights, and from record shops to recording studios.
