DEHRADUN: In the past few weeks, a number of patients have complained of “mismanagement” and “neglect” in several departments, particularly the gynaecology ward, at the Government Doon Medical College and Hospital (GDMCH).
On Saturday, a pregnant woman’s family at the hospital said that instead of being taken to the labour room, she was made to wait in the OPD for hours.The seven-month pregnant woman was referred to GDMCH from the district hospital. She was in pain and had fever as well but was still neglected, said family members. She was allegedly dropped at the OPD and when the family questioned the move, the ambulance driver told them that they had been instructed to do so for patients coming in before 2 pm. She was later moved to the labour room.
