A performance by Bollywood singer Daler Mehndi at the Siddhpeeth Maa Kunjapuri Tourism and Development Fair in Narendranagar, Uttarakhand, triggered controversy after a background vocal track was reportedly heard during his live concert. Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, who was attending the event as the chief guest, confronted the singer on stage, objecting to what he described as the use of a recorded voice instead of a live performance.
The incident took place on Sunday during the fair’s main cultural evening, which drew thousands of spectators. According to eyewitnesses, the controversy erupted after Mehndi had performed two songs and another voice began playing in the background.
