Uttarakhand HC issues notice to Centre, Kumaon commissioner over delay in stadium construction

NAINITAL: The Uttarakhand high court (HC) on Friday heard a PIL alleging delay in the construction of Indira Gandhi International Sports Stadium in Haldwani.

The petition, filed by Haldwani-resident Amit Kholia, states that the government is repeatedly changing construction agencies for the Rs 200 crore project.

A division bench of Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice RC Khulbe issued a notice to the Government of India, Sports Authority of India, Uttarakhand sports secretary and Kumaon commissioner.
